The Smoke stack for the #CreightonMine, an underground nickel mine which is the deepest nickel mine in #Canada and is owned and operated by Vale in #Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
Sudbury was founded after the discovery of nickel ore a Canadian Pacific Railway blacksmith in 1883, as the transcontinental railway neared completion.
The population is distributed over an urban center with several smaller towns placed among hills of rock that have been blackened by historical smelting activity. It is hard to travel in the area and not be aware of the size and location of the smelter, it is a huge place marker for all in the area.
