When a bushmeat poacher’s snare almost completely severed Enkesha’s trunk, the only way to alleviate her pain was to undertake emergency surgery. Although this meant sadly separating Enkesha from her mother, it was her only chance of survival. The one-year-old calf was quickly flown to the @DSWT’s Elephant Orphanage for an emergency operation.
