A pair of Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins swim through temperate waters off the coast of Jeju Island, South Korea. Three dolphins from this pod were illegally captured several years ago, kept in captivity in a zoo. In 2013 the captive animals were reintroduced to the wild and released off Jeju, where they returned to their birth pod. I’m thrilled to say that they are now doing very well well.
Photographing these creatures was a bit of a challenge, as they (unsurprisingly) had no interest in being near humans, but I’m thrilled that I was able to capture their beauty and essence.
