@MaggieRimmel (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Keystone Region), who is competing this weekend at the USA Volleyball Girls' 18s Junior National Championships (http://bit.ly/GJNC18s) with Renaissance 18 Black, was presented with Team Travel Source’s College Bound & Proud Scholarship on Friday morning before the first serve of the GJNC18 being held in Dallas. Team Travel Source is the official housing partner of USA Volleyball. The TTS College Bound & Proud Scholarship is a $2,500 award given to one male and one female athlete who are in good standing with USA Volleyball and are registered for a USAV Junior National Championship event in 2017 which included either the 2017 USAV 18s Girls’ Junior National Championships or the 2017 USAV Boys’ Junior National Championships. Rimmel will continue her volleyball career at Emory University this fall while loading up on her studies in neuroscience and behavioral science. As part of the scholarship application process, candidates were required to write an essay on what makes themselves unique and submit a resume application. “There was an essay that we had to write about makes us unique and why we deserve the award. I wrote about how I am unique because even when I had the opportunity to play Division I, I specifically chose to play Division III so I could pursue my interest in neuroscience and behavioral science and study abroad, which the Division I schools were not going to allow me to do so." Rimmel and her Renaissance 18 Black teammates are competing in the 18 USA Division at this weekend’s GJNC18. #HumansofVB
