?? Between the years 1989 and 1991, Japanese fashion brand COMME des GARÇONS コム・デ・ギャルソン produced a series of biannual magazines titled Six that explored the theme of the sixth sense. Rei Kawakubo 川久保 玲 enlisted graphic designer Tsuguya Inoue 井上嗣也 for art direction and Atsuko Kozasu 小指敦子 for editorial content, producing eight issues of unstapled and oversized A3 journals that were released in tandem with the launch of new CDG collections. The artistic publication was sparse in text and rich in photography. Kawakubo described the project as a “visual representation of the collection, purely for image.” The sizable pages feature contributions from photographers Peter Lindbergh and Bruce Weber, artist duo Gilbert & George, fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa, to name a few.
