In September 2016, I made a commitment to make a positive impact in the city of Chicago. It was important to me that we change the narrative – not through fear – but by shedding a positive light on youth in Chicago, empowering them to make a change. I launched my Spotlight On initiative to give the youth of Chicago exposure, access, and hope for a better future. With support of the @Chicago Bulls and @gatorade , I invited standout students to home games to share their accomplishments and dreams with the entire arena. Off the court, I was able to provide experiences that offer access to professionals and resources to support their journey of success. Major thank you to the @NBA for acknowledging my work but more importantly thank you for acknowledging the work of these students! #NBACommunityAssist #DwyaneWade
