On 15 May in New York we will offer this painting by Robert Delaunay from the collection of Greta Garbo. It was the former film actresses favourite painting.

The painting previously belonged to Delaunay’s wife Sonia, and is reputed to be a portrait of her.

Robert Delaunay (1885-1941), Femme à l’ombrelle ou La Parisienne, 1913. 48⅜ x 35½ in (122.8 x 90.2 cm). Estimate: $3,500,000-6,000,000.
