'Street art often carries strong social and political messaging, with many projects aimed at positive social change. One of the best examples is the RISE festival in #Christchurch, #NewZealand, which was hit by a deadly earthquake in 2011. 185 people tragically lost their lives and an estimated 80% of the city was destroyed. After the lifting of the police cordon over 2 years later, Canterbury Museum and @OiYouStreetArt organized the RISE street art festival, with 15 large murals, 3 exhibition spaces and almost 250,000 visitors.
