George Francis Cook would have been 84 today.
I think you understand how the last 8 weeks is so emotionally complex for me & my sister @_courtneycook_ with our moms bday, dads 10 year anniversary of his leaving town by way of dying & knowing they could have been here with us if we caught their cancer earlier. Please make your parents get checked. Simple tests & you could keep the rents around a little longer to drive you crazy & teach you the ropes.
The gift my parents gave me when they died was the knowledge of who truly carries compassion & who just doesn't. Some people can hang and support & some just, well, they can't and they go away. It's an annual understanding of what friendship means. I adore my friends and family who know I live my life to grow, learn & share.
Happy birthday Georgie, Pops, Daddio, Cookie, Franny, Cooko, Father (always made him laugh when j sincerely called him that). You've taught me more than you got credit for and I understand my own triggers & needs even more because of your influence & even your mistakes.
Next life - 18 rounds on me wherever that course exists & dinner with all the fixings.
