Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier // As the Rio Pequeno finally swells after the long summer drought, it forms a small waterfall that graces the small village of Kubenkrakjé in the Xingu region of the Brazilian Amazon. The water is welcomed back to fill the village’s reservoirs and to clean the dusty laundry, but it also becomes a fantastic seasonal playground for the village children. I watched them as they ran up the cliff and jumped over the rocks for hours on end. Just for the joy if it, I too gave it a go, wondering what the headline might read like if I miscalculated the fall!
