Central to #PopArt and #Lichtenstein's work was the use of images from mass #media, but the artist also had a fascination with the #historyofart as a subject for which to place Pop ideas in a historical context.

Not dissimilar to #Czanne, #Picasso and #Mondrian—all whose imagery the artist appropriated and transformed into his own—Lichtenstein grew an interest in how we see and organise our #perceptions.
