I already knew my European side came from Southern Italy in Brindisi- a town very close to Greece. So I was very clear on my mothers side. But for many African Americans- tracing our ancestors is tough because of how our great great great grandparents were "forcefully relocated." All life originated in Africa so this is no surprise-but its very interesting to find out exactly WHERE in Africa my ancestors were taken from to come to America. The majority of stolen people that were eventually forced into slavery came from the Ivory Coast, Ghana, the Republic of Congo and Nigeria- just as my chart shows. Finally got these results from my Ancestry.com test. Which I highly recommend. They give you background information on your ancestors which is also making me a little angry rehashing the treatment Some humans thought was ok to administer to those blessed with more melanin. Humans can be so evil but it's still good to have the information of ones origins. Anyway-Not as big of a percentage of Native American like I THOUGHT- gonna have to have a Lil chat with Granny today! ?But shout out to my fam in Ghana, Cameroon and Italy! ✊?✊???
