The city of Turin, Italy, once the seat of the country’s aristocracy, the Savoys, still bears the impress of the family’s stiff, uncompromising dignity. Take one look at the architecture: mute, balconied 18th-century facades (each wonderfully preserved) can be found on practically every street. “What a dignified and serious city!” Friedrich Nietzsche even exclaimed on his first visit in the late 19th century. @Jackie_Nickerson photographed this seating area inside Bar Cavour at Del Cambio, Turin’s most famous restaurant and an old haunt of both the Savoys and of Nietzsche.
