I wrote this song while picking up pieces of my broken heart a year after 3.11.2011.
.
When there is so much suffering in this world and so much loss, fear and hate, things can seem so blurry and not make sense.
.
I know and have experience God as a God of love and goodness but I see him through a broken lens and am always trying to find moments of clarity. To figure out how I can be part of the solution and not the problem. To use my words wisely as they have the power of life or death but not get so wrapped up in fear that I don't say anything at all.
.
Concerts should be a safe place where people come to lay their worries down, so it breaks my heart that so many young souls were taken today at a concert.
.
I can not understand a cause that glorifies taking innocent lives but my heart also breaks for the terrorists who are broken enough to believe it. .
Praying that other extremists will find their moment of clarity before it's too late and their life is wasted on taking others'.
