Happy Birthday to one of the most amazing people I know, my personal coach, friend and role model, #pgsheff You are very old today.
One of my favourite decisions I've ever made was to go to Sheffield University and to train in Sheffield at Abbey Flyers with you as my coach. I felt so welcomed straight away by you and all the members of the club that you had helped to develop into amazing people. You kept training sessions fun, purposeful, exciting and challenging, whilst always considering the team atmosphere and the people first. You became not just a coach to me, but a third parent, a guidance councillor (?), a friend and a role model. I am continuously amazed by your attitude towards life - always putting other people before yourself; always being energetic, talkative and bubbly (?) to anyone who has the pleasure to meet you; and always finding a way to make me laugh. For this reason, I have felt comfortable in my own shoes and was inspired to come out of my shell and be my weird self at training with you and teammates and then at uni and life. I have made so many friends and my life has been better because of who you are as a person.

You've helped to keep me on the pathway towards both my academic and athletic dreams and supported me all the way through to achieve them and now, beyond them! This wasn't an easy task and you took on all my disappointments, heartbreaks and stress and lifted me from my darkest times, but also we have been able to share the most incredible experiences and moments together and have a lot of laughs along the way.
Because of you, I am a better person and I will always be greatful.
Happy Birthday - have the most amazing day!!! Here's to the past 7 years and here's to the many more to come!
