This week's guest on #StoryMattersPodcast is the team from @sayyesco - @shabrooks and Tommy Statler for their ALL FEMALE re-imagining of Shakespeare's #TheTempest! Director Shashona Brooks concepted this show to take one of Shakespeare’s best works and give the voice of it to women. She believes that now is time when a play about power and magic can speak if told through the work of women. By making a primarily male show now an all women show- it switches the idea of woman as object to becoming the subject. They are encouraging audiences to listen to women's voices and to be seen more of an equal on stage and off. Their show goes up this June for #hollywoodfringefestival and I'm so excited to have them on the show to talk about the process of bringing this show to life! #podcast
