T-shirts, my way of expressing emotion. In college when the earthquakes in Haiti hit I went down to the University of Oregon Bookstore and asked if I printed shirts if they'd be willing to sell and donate all the proceeds. When our family had a reunion, I'd create shirts for everyone to wear. When my nephew was born I made onesies. Last year when the tragedy at Pulse night club happened I donated proceeds from our @portlandgear Pride shirt. I feel emotions by wearing them, by sharing them. When my aunt texted and said a simple shirt with the word "Peace" was needed right now I instantly called Joey at @OregonScreen and talked about the idea. She said the day before she was thinking herself how we could make a shirt to spread love and peace in a time of unrest. With the help of Chris the owner, we printed Peace shirts in under 3 hours and walked to the Hollywood Max station where we handed out hundreds of shirts for free, to just spread something positive, Peace. We didn't do this to capitalize on a situation, we did it because it's how we know how to grieve and give back. After posting this yesterday on my @portlandgear page I was blown away by the amount of people wanting to support and spread the same message. We’re working hard to get more shirts printed which you can now purchase online and 100% of the proceeds will be going to the families and victims of this event. Link in bio.
