I’m incredibly ashamed that our country has short-sightedly withdrawn from the Paris Climate Accord. I don’t think @ドナルド・トランプ and his administration represent the feelings of the majority of Americans. In my discussions, I’ve found that most Americans care about the future of their children and the world’s fate. As a nation, we have prided ourselves on technological innovation in the past and as we are now faced with dwindling finite fossil resources and the overwhelming and irrefutable evidence of climate change, we have a choice to either dwell in the past or innovate for the future. From both a moral and economic standpoint, renewable energy is the way for the U.S. to lead the world. A tremendous percentage of the U.S. population lives in low-lying coastal areas, so the potential long-term costs of failing to address climate change and watching as sea levels rise will be much greater than the short-term economic benefit of business-as-usual. The bottom line is that Trump has made a huge mistake that makes the U.S. look foolish and selfish. We all have a moral obligation to preserve the planet for future generations and I happen to believe that it is possible to do that while innovating energy solutions that the U.S. can sell to the rest of the world. Morality and prosperity can co-exist symbiotically if we put our minds to it. I propose less military spending and more research and development spending.
