At 4pm yesterday I was able to visit my sweet friend, Brooke at CHOP. At 1:04am this morning she went into the arms of Jesus.
Although she couldn't open her eyes or speak, when her mom let me place my hand in hers, I felt an ever so gently squeeze from Brooke. To let me know that she felt me there. I am forever changed and forever grateful to have known this angel for the last three years, thanks to @alexslemonade , to have grown closer to her and her mother, and to have been a witness to her strength, her joy, and her heart.
It's times like these when I have to lift up my hands and trust in God. I don't know why children have to go through this, but I do know it's moments like these when we must come together, have faith, hold on tight to hope trust and work to make a difference.
I ask that you please keep her mother Amy, and her family in your prayers. Her sweet kitty and her dog Bailey too ❤️ Brooke, I hope you know that I'm a better person because of you and there will never be a greater friend or inspiration than you. You have impacted my life in the most amazing way. I can't tell you how much I miss you, but I promise you that every day I will celebrate you.
You have my heart, now dance and be free from pain in peace and in heaven ❤️ We love you, and I miss you already.
