The history of the hotel dates back to the mid 18th century when the house was originally built, purportedly by Captain John Howard Graysmith, a #buccaneer was known for plundering along the Spanish Main.

Acquired by the current owners in 1973, it has developed into an elegant hotel and gastronomic retreat, with a legendary #cellar containing some of the rarest #Cognacs, #Armagnacs and #whiskies ever bottled.
