I took this almost three years ago the night Chris celebrated his 50th at the Forum surrounded by some of the coolest and most influential people in music in my era. Randall Slavin invited me and we had full media access passes at the front of the stage. Slavin pulled me along and positioned me in the most opportune places to catch some jewels with my phone. After the show, Vicky Cornell asked us to light the candles and carry out his 50th birthday cake. When I brought it, I swear to god he looked at me like 'who the hell is this smiley ass fucker singing happy birthday (off key) at the top of his lungs! Glancing back with only a split second of doubt, he blew out the candles and gave me a high five. Thought about posting it over the past weeks but didn't want to come off as exploitive to who I consider to be the best vocalist of my generation. #blackholesun #soundgarden #sayhello2heaven
