Recently photographer Tom Bol wondered if zoom lenses allowed him to rely on point-and-zoom instead of moving into the right spot for a better composition, so he decided to find out. On his most recent trip to Patagonia, he decided to leave all his zoom lenses at home and carry only #NIKKOR prime lenses: the 20mm f/1.8, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.4, 105mm f/2.8 and 300mm PF f/4. Here he photographed a gaucho at a sheep ranch outside El Calafate with the D810 and AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.4G lens.
