For 30 years Mr. Kusano has carried all the supplies necessary to make his world-famous udon at the summit shelter of Mt. Nabewari on his back. Though not as tall as its big brother Mt Fuji, as anyone that has done the hike will tell you, the pure uphill march for miles is tough for even fit individuals. To think that this summer will mark the 10,000th time Mr. Kusano makes this journey is completely mind boggling to me.
