ロサンゼルスカウンティ美術館のインスタグラム(lacma) - 7月6日 06時18分

This is Guadalupe Rosales (founder of @veteranas_and_rucas and @map_pointz) and I will be running LACMA’s Instagram feed for the next 6 weeks. I am starting off with one of my favorite works in the exhibition, “Home- So Different, So Appealing”, Badge of Honor by Pepón Osorio.
Pepón Osorio’s work has taught me to value everything I have experienced (every memory and every place I have been in) and to reflect on those experiences because that is what has built the person I am today, something I come to terms with every day.
Osorio wants people to think about who we are in relationship to what we have just seen (when looking at his work), and start a negotiation not only with the artwork but with the public at large, who we are and where do we stand… “As you stand and you’re not allowed to come in, then you need to reflect and you need to confront yourself almost as if I placed giant mirror right in front of you.”-Pepón Osorio
