For this week’s installment of #TigersFanFridays, meet Caitlin, who loves the #Tigers and baseball so much she hopes to be an MLB manager one day.
According to Caitlin’s mother, Rebecca, “life stops when the Tigers play.” When she makes plans, she ensures they won't interfere with the Tigers schedule. When there’s a home game or special event, Caitlin attends. Her wardrobe is filled with Tigers gear, her room is decorated in a Tigers motif and she has a tattoo on her wrist with the number of her favorite player.
Rebecca says her daughter was in tears watching Justin Verlander’s near no-hitter in 2015 and the ensuing speech. So when it came time for her senior pictures, Caitlin insisted they be at Comerica Park, “Her favorite place in the world,” Rebecca says.
Caitlin has always enjoyed baseball, having watched her brothers play since she was young. But when the #Tigers made their playoff run in 2012, “she became a diehard fan” and her knowledge of the game has only grown since then. Now, as she prepares to begin school at Wayne State University, Caitlin intends to minor in Sports Management, “in hopes of someday fulfilling her dream of being the first female MLB manager.”
