Somebody a long time ago told me "Never take too much from this world". I don't remember who said it, but the statement has stuck with me for years. I'm always redefining it and trying to figure out what it actually means for me. Today I think it means that the desire for success cant ever supersede the quality of work I do. Quality always has to come first. That will stand the test of time and carry your legacy. It's really hard to remember this in the internet age. Where you can grab a little bit of glory for every little step in your process. That little bit can give you a false sense of achievement based on how many "likes" your little colorful weld gets. I say fuck those likes! Nobody pauses for pics & likes Half Way up Mount Everest. Keep climbing and Finish things the right way and get All of the glory. Stopping for little mini pats on the back? That just shows you're scared and unsure of your ability to finish the job. It is "taking too much from this world". All of this has to come from inside of you. You have to push yourself and your hands to do things the way they should be done. Every single time. And if it's not right? Stay late or come in on Saturday and do it again. #jessejames
