— Finding strength in Community —
In my life, I have often found myself taking a certain degree of Pride in my Independence. There has always been something to say about being a "homebody" without a very large Inner-friend group.
I liked the fact that I didn't go out very much, and that I wasn't consumed by the hustle and bustle of obligatory social lifestyles. But what I found was that while I was indeed watering my single, independent flower... I wasn't actually watering the whole garden. Over the years I have not spent enough time furthering close relationships and building my "team" of girls because of being consumed in this idea of strength in independence...And the result of that has been me realizing that the garden of flowers that I once had, was no longer full.
This last weekend I learned that we are our STRONGEST when we are with others, our community of little flowers.
All three of us girls (Krizia Charlotte and Me) pushed each other through absolutely grueling conditions, and taught each other that we are all capable of so so so much more than we could ever imagine, and that we don't have to do Any of it alone. Being vulnerable in the midst of those you trust, is one of the strongest things you can ever do.
So I thank these two girls for broadening my vision, planting the seed of #adventure back in my heart, and for Conquering the dang Grand Canyon
