President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron shared a marathon handshake on Friday before the U.S. leader departed #Paris. Trump attended the Bastille Day parade as Macron’s guest of honor along with U.S. first lady #Melania Trump and French first lady Brigitte Macron.

“The United States is one of our friends. Nothing will separate us ever,” @emmanuelmacron said in a speech following the parade. “The presence at my side of Donald Trump and his wife is a sign of our friendship that travels time.” As the parade drew to a close, Macron was set to fly to #Nice to address the city that was struck by a deadly terrorist attack on #BastilleDay last year. Trump was due to return to the U.S. and spend the weekend at his #Trump National Golf Club in #Bedminster, New Jersey.
