Bird update: the young gannet had all six barbs of a deep sea fishing lure caught in his body. When we got to him he was stuck on the sand fighting to stay out of the surf. @watermoccasin25 carried him back to the house where we waited for backup. He is now rehydrating and and receiving antibiotics at the vet. Tomorrow he will be relocated to a nearby sanctuary for until he rehabs.
