[ I AM UNABLE TO COMPLY9.9] This piece was about control. Breaking free from it, others peoples opinions, society pressures. Mass media mind control. Breaking free from yourself even, that critical voice. Its a rebellion. Its a shedding of an old mindset. For me, it never comes peacefully or gracefully, its a fight. I know im not alone on this, and i find peace in that.
Just as all of these post are going up, i get hit with a situation that caused a wave of emotions. No one is used to me opening up like that on here, and i got all these concerned texts. (ily) IThats what i was feeling at that time. I shared that truth. It felt relevant to the piece. It will always b there as a reminder.
This page is my canvas. Im not into making art about escaping. Im not into making frat party soundtracks anymore. Im into making art about being human. Being here. The ups and downs. The beauty. The wonder. The fear of it all. Theres no handbook or manual.
