After a period of time that seemed endless, away from the game that I love so much, today I rejoin the Pirates of Pittsburgh.
This day fills me with enthusiasm and emotion for returning to play baseball, but at the same time it arrives in a moment of deep reflections about my goals, aspirations, the legacy that I want to build, and my attitudes inside and outside the field.
These turbulent days have forced me to rethink many aspects of my life. It also has helped me to renew my commitment to all the people that expect from me a correct and worthy performance. I have learned from my mistakes.
I want to thank all those that have given me their support in this difficult time, and that have trusted my talent and capacity to overcome obstacles.

The past stays in the past. From today I return focusing all my energy in doing my best to honor my family, my organization, my teammates, the community of Pittsburgh, the fans and myself.
