In order to bring Maui’s animated tattoo, ‘Mini Maui’ to life, first the animation was done with pencil on paper. Next, cleanup artists worked in negative space to emphasize the artistic quality of the character. Finally, the animation was composited onto the surface of Maui’s character model. #TechTuesday
