So saddened to hear about the great Sam Shepard passing away. Espen and I had the pleasure of working with him on our very first movie - a Western called Bandidas (written and produced by another hero of mine, Luc Besson). We were shooting in Mexico and we had Sam for a couple of weeks. I remember meeting him for the first time in wardrobe fitting. We were of course nervous meeting this legend and at the same time thrilled to have him. We got to the stage, Sam turned around and looked at us and said: "Like one Norwegian director directing a Western wasn't enough?". It was a good question - and an amazing experience learning the ropes from a true genius. He will be greatly missed.
