So to me it’s utterly about a moment of #alchemical change”: #Ceramicist Edmund de Waal’s meditative works in their ghostly colours speak to both his obsession with #porcelain and the colour white. At the age of five, De Waal saw a particular white #Chinese pot that set him on the course to becoming one of Britain’s most beloved #potters – his works joining the Chinese #Song dynasty with the simplicities of #Bauhaus. Illustrated here is a group of vessels from 1964, to be offered as part of our Made in Britain sale this September – on view to the public in #London from Saturday 9 September.
