Pigs CAN make amazing pets! They are extremely smart and lovable. Problem is, people are buying them thinking they will forever be this small. There are no "micro pigs" ? people try and underfeed or inbred pigs to create smaller ones. So many people call my GF Caitlyn because their micro turned into 120lbs of love... just like this beauty will one day. PLEASE rethink buying a pig and do your research... unless u want a hunk of 120lb lover rolling around your back yard ????

I received a call late last night about a potential orphan situation. I woke up this morning and that situation sure played out in its entirety. I had plans to meet up with one of my favorite people, @ジェイワウ - and her beautiful family to talk about the ins and outs of living with a pig and why so many end up in shelters. On my way over, I had to stop and pick up this tiny little orphan. Five days old! He burrowed under a stall yesterday and couldn't get back to his mom. When the farmer finally noticed, the baby was cold and had low blood sugar. When he put him back with his mother, she began pushing him away. That was when I was contacted. It was such a busy but fulfilling day. Elmer was a great piggy ambassador today. He wanted nothing to do with a bath but didn't mind when @rogermathewsnj held his chubby butt! Since the new baby is only five days old, we have to be up around the clock to tend to his needs - especially keep him fed and warm. I will keep you all updated.
