Photo by @pedromcbride // A baby, orphaned elephant follows one of its new care-takers at the @R.E.S.C.U.E in northern Kenya. Elephants who lost their mothers due to drought, poaching, or other human wildlife conflicts, are now ending up here and being saved by Samburu warriors. One caretaker says he used to be scared of elephants, ‘"but now I loves them". Not only is this wildlife orphanage on @nrt_kenya trying to save and re-wild wild orphans, but it is bringing new jobs to a landscape challenged by the grip of severe drought.
