This is what it's all about! I love hearing your positive stories, especially involving Diabetes. I recently received this message from Isaiah Mata from Brighton Colorado on my Snapchat (Derekmtheler). I have several goals when it comes to Diabetes awareness and this one touches all of them:
1- Do what I can to build an online community. When I was young I felt like there wasn't anyone in the entertainment business who talked openly about diabetes. It can be a lonely feeling. I was diagnosed when I was 3. I've dealt with it my whole life, and I can relate.
2- Make sure diabetics are aware of their treatment options. Technology is advancing and there may be a better way to manage your diabetes. (Insulin Pumps, and CGM's like #dexcom).
3- I don't want anyone to doubt what they can accomplish. Diabetes or not I believe you can be successful and accomplish any of your goals, and having diabetes is never a reason to hold you back. Stay positive
