噴火の名残を感じさせる山々が黒い海流の向こうに姿を現します。バルトロメ島は、比較的新しい噴火によってできた島。標高114mの頂上に登って眺めると、噴火する溶岩の躍動感や、海底の隆起の痕跡が間近に感じられます。サンティアゴ島のサリバン・ベイに上陸すると、見渡す限りの圧倒的な溶岩流の痕跡。造化の妙に目が釘づけになります。

Appearing beyond the black sea currents are the shapes of mountains which make you feel the vestiges of eruptions. Bartolome Island was created by a relatively recent eruption. Looking out from the peak at a height of 114m, you are made to feel the energy of erupting lava, and traces of the upheaval at the bottom of the sea. Landing at Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island, as far as the eye can see are the traces of the overwhelming lava flows. Your eyes become fixed on the mystery of creation.
