Today marks the start of this year's Notting Hill Carnival, which takes place on the Sunday and Monday of the summer bank holiday each year.
During the Jouvert procession, which opens the carnival early on Sunday morning, carnival-goers cover each other in colorful powder and paint to a soundtrack of steel bands and drummers.
