This jar contains centipede oil—that is, if you catch centipedes and put them in vegetable oil, the centipede venom seeps out and mixes with the oil. You can supposedly use it as a rubbing oil for burns and strongly poisonous insect bites (like from gnats). Ceramicist Shin Murata

@egifusako have been making this versatile ointment for the past ten years. I suppose there are countless centipedes in the humid deep mountains surrounding Kyoto.

この瓶、百足の油、というか、百足を取って、それを植物油の中に入れる。そう すると、百足の毒が出てきて、それが植物油と混ざり、やけどした時に 塗った り、ブヨの様な強烈な毒虫に噛まれた時にコノ油を塗ると治るという。陶芸家の 村田森と、そのパートナーの榮木扶佐子の２人が１０年がかりで 作っておられ る万能塗り薬。京都の山奥の湿度の高い山奥には沢山の百足が棲息するようです。
