We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve established the Best Friends Animal Society’s Rescue and Reunite Center, a command post and staging area at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Conroe, Texas. The center will be the base of our rescue and reunion efforts for the pets in the greater Houston area displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
In fact, reunions are already happening. Sweet pup Suki was brought here by animal control for care and holding while her owner, Sarah, was staying at a shelter. As you can see, Sarah was grateful and emotional during her reunion this afternoon, telling us “It was so hard to sleep without her.” We can’t wait to see more happy reunions like this one in the coming days and weeks. #SaveThemAll #hurricaneharvey #disasterrecovery #bestfriendsanimalsociety
