So this picture was taken 5 minutes after my official approval of becoming an American Citizen. I still need to be sworn in later this month, but after 18 years of calling this country my home, today it became real on every level...I recognize the complexity and the irony of choosing to become an American Citizen today...with so many lives gravely affected by #DACA, international and domestic political unrest, child poverty, mass incarceration , environmental abuse, and the military industrial complex, I still choose to call this country my home. I have faith and hope that love and justice will prevail if we continue coming together and use our voices to demand a world we want to live in. I pledge to use my voice for the highest good, and as of this day forward I can use my most important right which is to vote. We are activated more than ever..this is such an amazing, confusing but important time.
