The dog barked again, as I caught myself still looking at the pizza. "Hey! Whose dog is that?", I mumbled. "I'm making coffee", she responded. I pulled my hands from between my legs and made a loud kissing sound with my lips hoping the dog would come in there. Nothing. I did it again. "Are you doing that to me, because that better not be to me". I thought of my mother again: when she would yell at my dad while he was watering the plants. "What time did you get up this morning?!", she would say. He would never answer. He always looked like he was thinking of something else, maybe picturing himself on a horse somewhere, galloping like a hero into a raging sunset.
