My debut full length #Mongrels is OUT NOW! I first met Tom Tapley (left) several years ago as I was preparing to record my second EP #Knots. I had initially approached another producer in Atlanta, who after listening to my demos, introduced me to Tom as someone who he thought could better support my style. How right he was. I knew from the get-go that Tom was the right man for the job as we talked through the demos and he proceeded to get the right musicians in to support the sound. Brandon Bush (right) was one of those incredible artists that he introduced me to during Knots who played synth and keys on every track. Tom and I would often work until after midnight just for the sheer joy of creating and the fun in doing so with like-minded people. He'd often say "Hey man, if you still got gas in the tank, let's keep rolling!" This was an attitude that carried on through the recording of Mongrels. We were considering some other producers for the full-length, but I kept going back to Tom and decided that I'd rather go back that humble studio in the back of a parking lot in Atlanta and work with a dude I'd come to love as a brother in a space that had begun to feel like a second home. We decided that we would have Brandon co-produce Mongrels as well. Being able to have both of these country gentlemen on my team really made Mongrels the complex and delicate beast that it is and helped to take my sound to the next level. Their touch is all over this record and I am blessed to have met and continue to work with such talented and humble artists who want nothing more than to be in the room making music that they believe in. I am notoriously a mad artist with a million ideas and as much as they are extremely mad in their own right, they are much more pragmatic than me and often helped to narrow down and execute my ideas with delicate fervour. They are the pillars holding up this record. You can follow them here: @tom.w.tapley @thebrandonbush // Special shoutout to @ktothespence (center) a stand up dude and multi-talented artist who played bass on half of the record x ?: @raymondmccrea // Download Mongrels today via the link in my bio...?
