Haunting reminder of your absence but it stirs a fire in my chest. Loss has given me the opportunity to inspire others toward change. To fight in your name until we find a cure.
Lung cancer carries a stigma, that those diagnosed must've been a smoker. As if ANYONE deserves cancer. There are many causes to lung cancer, it unfortunately is the #1 cancer killer of women!! My grandmother never smoked a day in her life, she contracted it from radon poisoning, found in their basement year and a half after she passed away. Unfortunately due to the stigma there isn't a lot of involvement for funding toward detection methods, research, or trials to find a cure.
These sobering facts led me to want to educate myself and others through @lungforce ! To join the fight against a cancer we don't want to talk about but is responsible for 30% of cancer deaths.
