At the end of this #rainbow at #Chatsworth lies Lock, a large-scale outdoor #steel #sculpture from the 1970s by #RichardSerra. One of the most influential artists in this field over the last half-century, #Serra has persistently and imaginatively challenged the conventions of traditional sculpture from his use of materials to his involvement of the viewer. The process of viewing the work demands a passage through and around, taking it in both from a distance and close up – therefore forcing the viewer to contemplate the passing of time. On view until 12 November as part of our #BeyondLimits exhibition at #ChatsworthHouse. ?
