Photo and text by Ben Mikha @BenMikha | More from my home. This beach is literally 30 minutes from where I live and my area is considered Central. Basically it’s nestled between two steep cliffs that make up the rugged West Coast of Auckland. Some of my fondest child hood memories were spent on the black sands of these beaches, though they have strong currents and unpredictable tides they’re the most peaceful places on Earth to me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by day to day life I take a break here and enjoy the sunset from inside these large natural sea caves home to many seal pups. Sometimes the simple things are all we need to bring things back in to perspective.
