Yesterday I walked through a new stretch of wood with my son. We got covered in dirt, chased by mosquitos, gathered leaves, pine cones and dandelions, had deer jump in front and past us, and it was one of the most glorious afternoons ever.

Here was a moment of peace by our usual spot near the river where I wrote, tacked some leaves in my journal and just enjoyed the scenery. The table was covered in dirt and left a few marks on my @pegandawl Sendak Artist Roll and Waxed Canvas Tote and I didn't bother to really clean it off. It's kind of like a tattoo of a wonderful day where my son and I were free from the cares of life and were able to be clandestine explorers on a top secret mission in the wild wild woods. Each time I see those scuffs, I'll think of this most magical day that I was gifted with my wonder boy.
