I got this photo from Irene (@ladylockoff) on Tuesday with intentions of reposting, and have just been sitting here with it. I have so much to say and I don't know where to start. Most of you will see this photo and just scroll right past, because enough days have gone by that Las Vegas isn't at the forefront of your thoughts anymore, and life goes on. But what I can't get out of my head is the moment I saw a crowd of people running. Running for cover, running to hide, running to safety. I was frozen; I couldn't stop watching. I started trembling and the only thing I could think was, "This is it. It's happening." My arm was pulled and we got inside and kept moving through the hotel watching security guards running in the opposite direction. When we finally got into a room, a towel was wrapped around me because I was trembling uncontrollably so hard my teeth were chattering. Yes, life goes on, but it's different. Things have changed. Things have changed for me personally. This wasn't some far off incident I heard about on the news with empathy, I was and am personally affected. For many people, their worlds are upside down forever. As the week has gone by it seems as though the gravity of our situation is really sinking in, more tears have been shed, more sadness and anger felt. And we weren't even at the concert, just the near vicinity. Tonight I'm flying to Oregon for the annual Portland Boulder Rally at @thecircuitgym. I feel torn about leaving my city. A city that needs blood, money, and love right now. I've seen a lot of ignorant and insensitive things being said on social media and the news, that I won't address right now because my heart is still so heavy. I'm so thankful that everyone I love and everyone in my life are still here. And to those who are suffering more than me, I plan on donating blood when I come home. And however I do on Saturday, if I win money this weekend, money will be going to victims and their families. I love this city. It's my home. And this weekend it's coming to Portland with me. ?? #VegasStrong
