Sunlight filters through clouds passing above the stronghold district of Badlands National Park, located in South Dakota. Co-managed by the National Park Service and the Oglala Lakota Tribe, this 133,300-acre area is home to the earliest plains hunters, the paleo-Indians, as well as the present day Lakota Nation.
